How We Research
Every guide on Spectrum Sublimation starts with one question: will this product work for the project and setup you have in mind? For sublimation, that means checking the printer, materials, transfer method, press and workspace together.
Here is how we answer it.
1. We start with the project and setup
A printer that suits occasional home projects may not fit a busy shop. A blank that looks right may not have the coating or fabric content sublimation needs.
We check what a product is designed to do, which materials it supports, its size and workspace needs, and what else you need to use it. When compatibility or project limits matter, we explain what to check before buying.
2. We compare specs and features
We look at the details makers list: printer type, ink and paper compatibility, print size, press dimensions and controls, blank materials, and what comes in the box. For cutting machines and craft storage, we compare supported materials, working area, capacity and dimensions.
Makers describe their products in their own words, so we name the brand for each claim. We also note warranty terms and any stated setup or supply requirements.
3. We look at buyer feedback
We read what buyers report after using a product. We look for patterns, like color or feed issues, inconsistent press temperature, blanks with uneven coatings, transfer materials that are hard to handle or tools that are difficult to set up.
One angry review doesn't sink a product. A pattern does.
4. We score each product
Our score weighs specs, features and buyer feedback against the project in the guide. A printer that suits one reader may score lower in a comparison focused on mugs, apparel or a small workspace.
Scores spread out on purpose. A 10 is rare.
5. We keep pages up to date
Products change, and some disappear from stores. Makers may sell similar models or bundles, so we check each model name, compatibility details and what comes in the box, and we only link new units.
We skip products with unclear specifications or a known recall. When we update a guide, the "Updated on" date at the top changes with it.
What our picks are not
Our picks are based on research, not hands-on tests. We don't claim to have used every product we cover.
Sublimation results depend on the printer, ink, blank, transfer and press settings. Check the maker's instructions for your specific supplies and equipment before starting a project.
